This eye-catching and unique chess set is by the Franklin Mint, and I believe was issued in the 1980's. The set features a footed board, a glass pyramid cover, and Egyptian-themed playing pieces. The board/base measures 16" x 16", and the set measures about 13" to the top of the finial. While the set works as it should and looks beautiful but there are some condition issues to note: the stickers along the sides have creases where they peeled up at the ends and were glued back down; there are many small scuffs and scratches to the piece, and there is a small wood chip missing on one of the sides; the Egyptian characters on the four foot corners are gone; the finial at the top is a replacement; and there is patina to the metals/gold plating, most especially on the joints of the pyramid. I've given the set a light cleaning and polishing, though it might benefit from a more thorough restoration. I'll leave that decision up the the new owner. I don't have the box or paperwork for the set...what you see in the pictures is what you get.
