Description
This Lord of the Rings Cordial Glass Chess Set is indeed a rare collectors find. Itis the perfect must-have item for any
discriminating hard-
core
enthusiast of rare and unusual LOTR collectibles, or perhaps for a collector of extraordinary high-end chess sets.
This all original set - which includes all of the easy-to-find popular pieces, all of the hard-to-find rare pieces,
all of the individual piece storage boxes, and
the officially licensed board - gives you a complete collection with everything in perfect condition! I purchased this set new and only just unpacked them all for the first time so that I could photograph them for this listing (I was in the process of creating a room dedicated to displaying my chess sets, but then I got married - again - and ... well, ).
This is a magnificent, very large, Lord of the Rings Chess Set made by Royal Selangor. It is in unused, perfect original condition sure to meet or surpass your highest expectations. Each piece is exquisitely crafted from heavy fine pewter with a clear glass cup. As examples: Sauron, the black king, stands about 5 1/2 inches tall and weighs 3/4 of a pound; while an Orc, or black pawn, stands at almost 4 1/4 inches and weighs over a half pound. Each piece in this set could stand alone as a sculptural work of art (see close up photos).
The beautiful, original, undamaged chess board included with this set is a purpose built board that measures a huge 22 inches square in order to accommodate these large playing pieces. The whole kit and caboodle, packed and ready to ship, weighs 45 pounds.
See photos for additional information and visual descriptions. I would encourage you to do some comparison shopping before committing to this set. If you have any questions, or would like additional pictures, I'd be happy to oblige. Good luck and stay healthy.
(Tl,dr: Rare complete ultra-cool massive LOTR chess set in perfect condition. Not cheap. Good luck finding another one.)
A word about Sales Tax:
I do not charge any sort of sales tax or any other up-charges. eBay, however, might. Court rulings have determined that various taxing authorities can levy taxes on on-line purchases, even though the Buyer and the Seller might be in different States. To settle who gets this money, and to avoid potential double taxing by both States, "They" decided that the Buyer's State should get the booty. Consequently the Buyer's address determines if and how much sales tax gets levied. eBay, in an effort to stay in business and not lose all their sellers to them running afoul of taxing authorities, now automatically include any taxes thus owed. I, personally, have nothing to do with it or to say about, except to pay a fee (not part of the tax) for the taxes having been included on my invoice. Something we'll all have to live with now, I guess. It just keeps getting better, don't it?
A Note to Buyers Outside the US
:
Import fees (including taxes and customs charges) may apply for the country the item is being sent to.
These fees are usually based on the item's price, shipping weight, dimensions, and country of origin, plus any taxes, duties, and fees from the country the item is being sent to. Buyers are responsible for paying import fees, usually as part of clearing their parcel through customs or when they receive their item. These costs cannot be included in the item's purchase and shipping price.
Through the eBay Global Shipping Program, eBay will inform the buyer about any import charges and these will be included in the order total at checkout.
Try not to be too surprised when you find these additional charges.
I have nothing to do with it and can’t begin to guess how much it might come to.
If you purchase something from me and decide that you don’t want to pay these fees, simply ask me to cancel the transaction for you and I’ll do that.
My Feedback Policy:
EBay does not allow Sellers to leave neutral or negative feedback for Buyers as long as they have paid for their item - It doesn’t matter what they might subsequently do.
On the other hand, Buyers have full use of the system.
Because of some Buyers trying to use this advantage for improper gain, as a Seller I will wait to leave feedback until my Buyer lets me know that their item has arrived and they're happy with it.
As a Buyer, I leave feedback as soon as my item arrives.
