This auction is for a BRAND NEW! complete set of Isle of Lewis Hydrostone Chess Pieces. The king stands 3 ½” tall with a 1 ¾” base. This is a full set of 32 chess pieces. The king stands 2” tall with a 15/16” base. The Isle of Lewis chess set is perhaps one of the most famous chess items in human history. The pieces this set is based on can be seen in the British Museum in London as well as the Scottish Museum in Edinburgh. These pieces are a maple and bone finish. Hydrostone chess pieces are made from a gypsum specifically developed for figurines, made by US Gypsum. These sets are cast by hand by a Canadian artist. This item has been discontinued. These pieces would best pair with a 2” - 2 ¼” square.

As always, we are happy to combine shipping when you purchase multiple items (Please note some larger or unusually shaped items have to ship separately).
