(24k gold & silver plated) Chess Set that I bought in Rome, Italy (1981), as this chess set was not available in the USA during this time. I'm retired & downsizing my collections before we move to Florida, hopefully in the upcoming months.
Designed by the
world-renowned Italian sculptor Piero Benzoni.
It is handmade using
unrivaled attention to detail and a mastery of the lost wax casting technique.
Very elegant, luxurious, ornate and decorative. From the Piero Benzoni’s Historical Collection:

The chess set is complete, barely used & comes with the matching board frame. It is actually still displayed at our living room. I'm not able to find the storage case that came with it, but if you want or need it, is probably available at the Pianki's website.

There is gold on the top surface of the pedestals (gold pieces) & silver on the top surface of the pedestals (silver pieces).  All the pedestals are 1.00” square except for the pawns who stand on a .75” square.  Each piece is signed by the sculptor.
Chess Board:
The board is made of 2.25” squares of Onyx and Tuscan Marble: (Bianca = White, Multi-Brown & Multi-Green) which are embedded in a handcrafted 24kt. gold-plated & silver-plated solid bronze base frame that measures 22" x 22".  The base frame is highly decorated in the center with a large "Mask of Tutankhamun" with Egyptian scenery (repeated four times).  Four beautiful sphinxes accent and elevate the board as pedestals at each corner and it is 3-1/2" high.
There are no broken, cracked nor repaired parts to either the chess pieces or the board.  There is some natural tarnishing to the
gold & silver plated
areas, all consistent with its age!  It is amongst the finest Egyptian themed chess set you can find.  Priced to sell!
PS - The weight of the chess set is approximate over 35 pounds
and requires professional shipping packing, etc. for safety reasons and will be with insurance. I will prefer it to be a local pick-up.
